The Chase to Heaven is Kwasi’s most chaotic painting, portraying a group of women running toward what can be interpreted as heaven.
The artwork is filled with luxury goods with some women carrying their goods to heaven, as a symbolism of the things holding us back in life. The panic in the painting suggests a rush as if to indicate the subjects were not ready, hence the chase. However the top part of the painting represents the calm and serene “heaven” they are chasing.
