Named after the popular party in the UK, "Recess" is a painting displaying black people having a good time. This painting includes the use of traditional instruments like the cello and piano, with a dj performing as well.
The painting is situated in what seems to be a Victorian style hall, but is also in a cave.
Could this show the space as a safe space, or as a free space to express ourselves?
